I promised an update today after having my splints taken out of my nose. My appointment was this morning at 8, and my husband drove me because I was not comfortable driving myself yet. I still get dizzy and light-headed on occasion and wanted to play it safe.
We were literally walking back out at 8:05am. It didn’t even take 10 minutes! All the doctor had to do was snip my stitch – apparently there was just one, and if I am not mistaken it was going through my septum (yuck!). Then he pulled out the biggest things I’ve ever seen. I have no idea how these monsters were up my nostrils but it totally answered the question as to why I had been feeling so much pressure in my sinuses since the surgery.
Here is a photo I found on Google…I like it because it shows how HUGE they were!
I cannot even describe how much better I felt instantly when he removed those things. It didn’t HURT, but it was uncomfortable. Now my nose is back to its normal size again. I still have a lot of healing to do and still cannot blow my nose or sneeze through my nose for another week. I still have some occasional bleeding and it still hurts! But I can already breathe much better than before. 🙂
