Low Fat Chili Recipe

Crock-Pot meals are popular with most super busy families because you can put the ingredients in and leave it alone for several hours while you get other things done. A lot of Crock-Pot meals are still rather unhealthy, especially most recipes for the winter favorite – CHILI. This is a super low fat Chili recipe that you can enjoy with your family during those chilly (hehe) days!

This recipe makes four servings.

What you need:

1 lb. lean ground turkey
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
15 oz black beans, canned
15 oz pinto beans, canned
6 oz tomato paste
1 package Chili seasoning, any brand will do
4 oz low-fat cheese, shredded (opyional)
4 oz fat-free Greek yogurt, plain (optional)

Brown turkey and drain to discard any fat. Place all ingredients, except for cheese and Greek yogurt, into a slow cooker. Cook for 4 hours on low, or for 2 hours on high. Top with 1 oz cheese and 1 oz Greek yogurt (awesome substitute for sour cream – it will fool you!), if desired.

Approximately 340 calories per serving – ENJOY!
