Happy Monday, friends!! I’m so excited to talk to you today. I had an awesome first week of PiYo and being gluten and dairy free. Losing the gluten and dairy was actually much easier than I had anticipated! 🙂 I wanted to do like I did with the 21 Day Fix and share with you my PiYo results and meal plan after each week comes to a close.
Before I began PiYo, I searched online for PiYo meal plans and recipes, and didn’t find much. So hopefully, this post will solve that problem for you if you are searching for some ideas before starting your PiYo journey.
When I stepped on the scale, I was actually shocked! I had to step back on and make sure that the scale wasn’t mistaken the first time, because it has done that to me before. LOL! I lost seven pounds this week. I have not measured myself and likely will not do that again until I finish the program. More importantly, I had several non-scale victories this week as well. On Monday, I couldn’t do a downward dog without modifying, because my legs were so tight. I’m happy to report, by Sunday’s workout I was able to straighten my legs!!! 😀
I am really loving this workout, because my body needed a serious break from high-intensity. My physical therapy has revolved completely around core strength, so PiYo is a perfect fit for me right now. I pray that I will be able to start reporting to you that I’ve woken with no pain. 🙂
One thing I can make a note of and share is that being gluten and dairy free has helped me get through temptations easier. Telling myself that it makes no sense to go gluten and dairy free for the benefits if I am just going to cheat, because then those things are right back in my system again! It has definitely upped my willpower tremendously.
The workouts this week were challenging and I am definitely feeling it in muscles I haven’t used in a while, but I am loving the flexibility that is starting to show already. Here are a couple of my favorite PiYo moves so far!

As promised, here is a copy of my meal plan that I followed this week. Meal planning and proper preparation are probably 80% of the weight loss battle, because you cannot out-train a bad diet. I will be providing more of these recipes soon, so that you can follow the meal plan exactly if you feel like it!
