I started my 2B Mindset postpartum journey on March 12th, 2018. I was 5 weeks postpartum, totally not ready for workouts yet, so when Beachbody corporate reached out to me and invited me to be a part of a test group for a new program (which by the way I have been waiting on an invite like this for 5 years, since getting invited to do an 80 day Obsession test group while I was pregnant that I couldn’t participate in). So when that invite came, first of all I was afraid that I would also not be able to do this test group since I had just had a c-section 5 weeks prior and was seriously still struggling to do simple things like sitting up in bed! By the way, c-section moms, I never had any idea how stinking hard c-section recovery was since my first baby was a vaginal delivery. But this recovery has been so hard.

 

To my surprise, when I read the details in the email, I saw that this program was Beachbody’s FIRST EVER nutrition-only program. I got really excited and knew God sent me this opportunity for a purpose.

 

You see, I had started to lose faith that this business was going to be for me long-term, even though I am in my 5th year with the company, because this stage of my life is so busy and workouts had become so sporadic because of my two children and my businesses! I truly started to feel like I didn’t have a solution to help people who were just like me.  

 

I get messages all the time from women who feel exactly like I do, and before I was in this position I always thought that they were just excuses, but now that I am in this position I truly understand the struggle and sometimes you just don’t have it in you to do a workout when you’ve got very small children running your day. Kids are exhausting, am I right? 🙂 Of course they are the best kind of exhausting!

 

So I was ALL IN! We were to start the program just a few days after we said we would participate, so I didn’t really have much time to prepare. Thankfully, this program is very gracious and forgiving, and I dove right in.

 

In my first 6 weeks of the program, there was so much self-discovery that happened. I started to release the chains I had placed on myself in the past with being very strict and rigid on my workout and meal plans.

 

Those behaviors in the past had led me to a binge eating disorder that I struggled with for years, and thankfully I am past that now thanks to the 2B Mindset. The 2B Mindset can really help anyone who struggles with any type of disordered eating, anyone who wants freedom with their food, anyone who feels completely restricted and miserable on their current meal plan, and anyone who is sick of counting calories and measuring their food or counting points.

 

You truly get to learn ways to experience freedom with your food, which for me has meant that for the last 3 months since I’ve been doing this program I have not had any binge-eating episodes because I have not felt restricted AT ALL.

 

Obviously I cannot go into too much detail about the program without giving away all of it’s juicy secrets, but if you struggle with emotional eating, or feeling restricted, or just wanting a new way to view your food without it feeling like a prison sentence, and if you want to make weight loss fun again, all while enjoying the things you love most and seeing them in a new way, then this may be a great fit for you.

 

Like I said above, I have not had any binge-eating episode since starting this program 3 months ago, and in my official test group which was 6 weeks long before the program was launched to the public, I lost 8 pounds in a way that almost felt effortless.

In the past, weight loss has never felt effortless. I also fit back into my pre-pregnancy jeans at 10 weeks postpartum – a year earlier than I did after my first child! And I was MUCH more strict on my programs after my first child, but that strictness led me to binge eating which made me take over a year to lose the baby weight. I lost 5 inches on my waist alone in 6 weeks! That is crazy to me! And you can see in my photos the transformation that happened in my midsection.

 

Here is a YouTube video that I made a short 5 weeks after starting the to be mindset, which I cannot believe how many views it has had! It is truly a testament of how many people are both interested in this program and doing it and rocking it!

 

 

My group of ladies doing this program have done such a great job as well, seeing how they can be forgiving on their bodies and no longer so strict that they feel like they are in food jail. If you want ranch or cheese on your veggies to make you eat more veggies, you can do it! If you need butter on your veggies to make you eat more veggies, then you can do it! Gone are the days of steamed broccoli and baked chicken for every meal of every day in order to lose weight. You can lose weight happily and also be very satisfied with your meals.
