As a new momma, I get asked a lot about 21 Day Fix breastfeeding modifications. Many new mommas assume that they can’t follow the 21 Day Fix while breastfeeding, so I’m here to share all of the things I did to make the program successful, with no loss of milk supply while I was breastfeeding my daughter! I also was an exclusive pumper, so I can tell you for a fact that my supply didn’t change, since I was able to actually see how much milk was pumped each day. π
As most mommas would agree, breastfeeding was the priority over weightloss – so if I found that my milk began to diminish I was going to stop the program. But, it didn’t! So…. yay! I also used Shakeology. During this time, since I wasn’t sure if Kendall would have any milk allergies, I went ahead and chose the Vegan Shakeology formula, to be safe. π It worked perfectly!
I was very cautious and did lots of research about foods that helped with milk supply and incorporated those foods into my container counts each day! This worked like a charm! I’m happy to share these tips with you! π
Here is a list of some of the foods you can incorporate into your 21 Day Fix to boost milk supply and help to offset any calorie reduction. OH! And also, be sure to bump up to the next bracket up if you are breastfeeding full-time {not supplementing at all}.
1. Oatmeal – be sure to have oatmeal every day! {yellow}
2. Water – lots of water! {free}
3. Salmon – {red}
4. Flaxseed, ground – {orange}
5. Spinach – {green}
6. Brown Rice – {yellow}
7. Milk – {red}
8. Almonds – {blue}
9. Carrots – {green}
10. Hummus – {blue}
11. Asparagus – {green}
12. Apricots – {purple}
Include a variety of foods into your diet, but be sure to have most of these on a frequent basis!

Did you increase your container allowance anywhere?
Great question, Dana! I bumped up to the next bracket above what the calculation told me to do. Are you about to start the 21 Day Fix?
Yes! Starting Oct 10 and BF exclusively! I now see that you Recommended the bracket bump up! Thanks!
Awesome can’t wait to hear how your results are! π I’m sure you are probably with a coach already but if not, never hesitate to reach out I’d love to hear from you and help! <3
I’m so happy to have found your website. Thank you for the tips!
Hi Whitney! I just ordered the 21 day fix but I am already at the top bracket. Any suggestions on what I should do? My little one is 3 months old and I have worked so hard to get my supply up to Breast feed so I donβt want to do anything that will sacrifice that.
Kelsey – so sorry I missed this comment from you! If you’re already at the top bracket, I would just REALLY focus on adding in those container suggestions that I listed out [flax, etc]. How did it go for you?
This is amazing!! I canβt wait to start 21 Day Fix (again) in two weeks! Weβre being induced on Monday!
So exciting! How is little one doing?
Do you have a meal plan for 21 Fix whole Breastfeeding?
Hey Destiny! Not an entire written out plan – great suggestion/idea though! I only have the modifications that I shared in this post. I’ll work on something!! π
So my baby is 16 months. She eats food and drinks whole milk. I still nurse her 2-4 times per day (week vs. weekend). Not necessarily for the nutrition but just the added health benefit and bonding. Should I be modifying my container allowances?
I think if you’re just nursing occasionally and that she’s eating food and drinking milk, that you don’t need to modify anymore. π Modifications are really more for that stage where the little one is solely getting food from mama! Have you started your program already?
